Seven by Five blog looks at image processing in Photoshop, Aperture and Lightroom and explores creative photography at all levels. The blog wants to highlight the cool photographers in its midst.  The blog feature in a 7×5 Photo Profile.
 ■Who is the blogger? It is Someone who show their images around them as creative digital photography.
How is the site organized?  The site is composed of advertisement of photography and tutorial and photos and articles, and community.
Is it easy to read/visually appealing? It is a little bit complicating because it’s shown diffused information on the cover of website.
How often do they post and what are their main posts about?  It’s about one per a week.  The main posts are photos and articles.
Is it an art blog or just photography? It is just for a photography blog.

My personal images are created to connect with a wide demographic. My goal is to draw the viewer in by stimulating something in their memory.

Who is the artist? John Gessner
What kind of work do they do? She worked in photography area with and knew many world famous photographers. Hashi, Don McCullin, Marilyn Bridges, Grant Peterson, Jeff Botz to name a few. She worked with Hashi Studio in Manhattan for five years and now she is based in Pinehurst, NC.
Were you interested, excited, curious, disinterested by what you read?
When I read this article, I was interested in photos of directors and stars, and her meaningful words. I’m really getting soft and strong feeling about her dream. She has been dreaming her photography with nice mind.
If so, why?  I want to work at broadcasting station or film area. That sounds like awesome to me. Just happy!!

Questionnaire

1. What’s your major? What year will you graduate?

My major is Radio and Television arts. I am not sure, but I expect that I’ll graduate after 2015.

2. Why did you choose a photography class (or photography as a major), and what do you hope to learn from school in general and this class specifically?

The reason why I chose this photography class was that I like taking photos as remembering past things that I took photos. In this class, I hope to learn an enjoyable class, not hard. Once again, I love taking photos.

3. What are your goals after graduation? Please list your goals in reverse order, starting five years out, then three, two, one, and six months.

After graduation, my goal is that I get a job related Korean broadcasting station. I want to work anything associated with broadcasting areas. First of all, I’ll have an experience like an intern in broadcasting station in the middle of studying in university. I already visited Japan national broadcasting station called NHK. In addition, when I come out of the station, I met Korean hot sexy star, Dambi Son and four staffs. So, after graduating, I’ll start from outside and then come in core before 30 years old.  

4. What artists, musicians, photographers, writers, movies, books have influenced you/your work?

One of my favorite musicians is Ne-yo. I like his R&B style. His voice and the song’s lyric are pretty calm. Also, the other reason is that he challenged his first album with playing as the basketball player. Also, I think he’s been making efforts to several genres like music and film, not stopping.

5. Are there any important websites that you are referencing for art/photo competitions and/or information?

I didn't find referring sites, and I just found someone's blog as using Wiki 

 

6. What museums and/or galleries have you been to in the past year?

Yes! I visited Dallas museum of art last year.

7. Have you had any photo projects and/ or training in the past?

No, I haven’t had any photo projects. I’ve just liked to take a photo. If there are any photo projects in the class, I practice and practice although I’m not very well professional.

8. What is the value of art for the artist?

I think the value of art is that people recognize the artist’s work and catch their mind and understand their state of emotion. I think it is a precious and important thing to the artist because the artist wants to deliver from person to person about his work.

 9. What is the value of art for the audience?

More concerned and invaluable artist’s work, more approaches audience’s emotion I think.  The value of it for the audience is showing contemporary work of culture for each age.

10. Is photography a vocation or an avocation?

Photography is a vocation to me..

11. What is your passion?

My passion is now just to practice for the future, not regret.

12. What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable?

In the class? I am not afraid in the class. I usually feel difficult about talking in English.

13. Do you have a passport? Are you a traveller?

I have a passport. I have a student visa.

14. Who is your favorite artist? And why?

 I already told my favorite artist. One is ne-yo and the other is some Korean artists. I like ballad and R&B, and rap music. Ballad sometimes makes me fill my lonely. Also, I like R&B mixed between beat and blues.  Then, I enjoy some rap music which has good lyric and beat like ‘where is the love’ 

 15. Why did you sign up for this class? What do you hope to learn from it?

The reason why I signed up this class is that I like and enjoy taking a photo.

Lastly, I hope to learn to take a beautiful picture!!

Vivian Dorothea Maier

 

 

Vivian Dorothea Maier was an American amateur street photographer, who was born in New York City, but grew up in France. (February 1, 1926 – April 21, 2009) She took more than 100,000 photographs, primarily of people and cityscapes in Chicago, although she traveled and photographed worldwide. Her photographs remained unknown and mostly undeveloped until they were discovered.

What I find to be the most interesting aspect in her series of Self-Portraits, is her ability to show mostly a unfriendly face, and seems her arm position like a triangle. At times, she usually looks upper side and seems angry. Her images give me a sense of her self-perception and also how she appears by herself, and I think she want to find herself. Helmut Newton

 

Helmut Newton born in Berlin was a German-Australian photographer. He was a "prolific, widely imitated fashion photographer. (31 October 1920 – 23 January 2004)

 

He has been using many sexual photos. It was really bad sensational photos. He’s been taking many photos with women models.  But, I was interested about taking gloomy circumstances but exciting from his photos with models. You can view more of her work here.

 

 

 

Ilse Bing

 

 

Ilse Bing was a German avant and commercial photographer during the inter-war era. Her Self-Portrait remains an icon of modernist photography, and a time when many women were embracing modernity and independence, along with the new opportunities. (23 March 1899 – 10 March 1998)

 

What I find to be the most interesting is her face in the photo. The face seems like my Italian friend. In addition, she expressed very well her aspect with gorgeous backgrounds. You can view more of her work here.

 

 

 

Ansel Easton Adams

 

Ansel Easton Adams  was an American photographer and environmentalist. His black-and-white landscape photographs of the American West, especially Yosemite National Park, have been widely reproduced on calendars, posters, and in books.

 

In this picture, I felt that I was very well comfortable and calm from him. His smiling face of photos appeals person’s mind. Also, some photos with other person are proofs. His smiling shows us that he isn’t old and seems like a young boy except for his appearance.  You can view more of her work here.

 

 

 

Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick was born in New York. He was an American film director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer, and editor who did most of his work. He was considered intelligent despite poor grades at school. (July 26, 1928 – March 7, 1999)

 

First of all, I found his histories of the career. He worked filming, but also other area related to it. Most of all, his images give me that he loves taking photos with his people around him related to his film area.  You can view more of her work here.

My world

My topic is that I spend my whole student life as doing studies and practicums.

I've been spending a lot of time in this area. The day is 9/1/2013.

I like my room of smith hall because it gives me comfortable feeling and sometimes healing.

The tree's name is 'smiling tree'. This is because if I see this tree, I feel that the tree seems like my mother as same as spacious space for me. The day is 9/4/2013

At night, I finished RTV409-project 1. Then, I took photos from my friends.

Also, I sometimes take a rest at the square in front of PAC. This area has awesome sight to me.
